Danny Rosenberg

Hello all,

I regret to say that I have also been a victim of this fraudulent organization, for over 11,000 shekels. Here is what happened to me:

After living in Israel for 2.5 years, I moved into 71 Hahashmonaim in Tel Aviv 6 months ago, taking over the contract of a previous tenant. The contract signing was presided over by a sub contractor for 'Eden Midtown'.

My first negative encounter of many with Eden Group was on the move-in day. The apartment that I signed for was dirty and the remote for the air conditioner didn't work. When I refused to sign the move-in papers until it was clean, the maintenance person gave me the phone to speak to 'Elad' who promised that he would compensate me up to three hundred shekels for a room cleaning. I later sent a message listing the small changes that needed to be made, plus the quote for the cleaning. I called their 'service center' as well as Elad numerous times, but never received a response.

I soon realized that this negligence was not just incompetence, but a policy.

Being a foreigner, I had no family in the country who I could be my 'guarantor' for the contract. Instead I paid a fee to use Discount Bank as my guarantor. The sum of my guarantee was approximately 11 thousand shekels - a deposit to be removed by Eden Midtown if I destroyed the apartment or didn't pay my rent on time (although I also provided a deposit check of nearly three thousand shekels for the same reason). Needless to say, all of my rent checks were paid on time without any problems.

When the five months were almost up, I received an email and a call from Eden setting the date and time of the checkout. Naturally I moved all of my belongings, cleaned the apartment to be ready for the appointed time (April 27th). When the day came, nobody from the company contacted me or came to the apartment. I waited in the apartment for hours, calling every Eden contact number I had, to no response.

Since I was leaving the country indefinitely on the morning of April 29th, I had no choice but to leave the keys in the apartment, and document that I followed their instructions. I sent them a comprehensive email recounting the events of the day, their failure to do the checkout, and their lack of communication. For good measure, I included pictures of my clean, vacated apartment, and the location of the keys that they could take at any time.

A week later while abroad I received these Whatsapp messages:

[5/3, 11:00] Eden : שלום דניאל, ניסו מספר פעמים לתפוס אותך טלפונית ללא הצלחה. (השארנו גם הודעות סמס). מעוניינים לסיים את הליך הצ'ק אאוט.
למתי ניתן לקבוע פגישה?
[5/3, 11:06] Danny: אני בחו''ל. נא לענות לשיחה שלי
[5/3, 11:07] Eden: אין אפשרות לענות לשיחות וואטסאפ.
[5/3, 11:12] Eden: Hello Daniel, please let us know when will you be around so we can schedule meeting to finalize the check out and charges.
[5/3, 11:13] Danny: I won't be back for a long time. Can you do it without me there, or with my friend instead?
[5/3, 11:16] Danny: We were supposed to do the checkout on Wednesday, but nobody got in contact with me, and no one answered my calls
[5/3, 11:16] Eden: will check it and get back to you. The phone cann't accept "calls" via whatsapp. you can call us to our landlines 03.7367555 or 072.2287788.
[5/3, 11:16] Eden: acctually several of us try to make it. when should we expect your return?
[5/3, 11:18] Danny: I'm calling you now
[5/3, 11:43] Danny: What is your name?
[5/3, 11:44] Danny: I got put through to your answering service

They didn't respond to this conversation or to my follow-up calls.

While abroad weeks later, I received a message from Eden Midtown saying that they have not received the keys, and if the checkout process is not done soon they will evict me and make me pay some undefined amount of money. Their message was written as if entirely unaware of the numerous times I emailed them, and called, explaining the situation. Naturally I responded, and, while dumbfounded by their obtuse messages, I again explained what happened, and resent them my first emails with all the information they would need to complete the checkout.

They emailed me again a few days later asking the same questions about the check out that I had responded to so many times already. And of course, my response was met with silence. At this point it was clear their messages were meant to be a cover for future offenses.

On May 24th I got a message from Discount Bank saying that Eden Midtown had requested the money and the bank was forced to provide it. Eden Midtown stole over 11,000 nis from me while attempting to cover themselves legally with their trail of dummy emails. Needless to say, Eden Midtown never even contacted me to tell me they had taken my money.

As expected, it was impossible to get in contact with Eden Midtown again. Despite them showing they had an easy way to communicate through Whatsapp, they never used it again to contact me. I suspect that as soon as they realized I was out of the country, they could do damage without any repercussion.

But, they were mistaken. I have extensive photographic and documented evidence to use against Elad Eden.

Although I am not currently in the country, I fully intend to fly back to Israel to SUE this FRAUDULENT ORGANIZATION in Israeli courts. I have spoken with several lawyers who, upon seeing the evidence, agree unanimously that I will win the case easily.

If anyone would like corroboration of my evidence, I would be happy to provide.
